We hear soooo much about aging these days….especially in and around Hollywood. Most of the talk is about physical things, but a bigger part of aging gracefully is how you handle it mentally.
Here’s what inventor Henry Ford had to say about the whole thing:
“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at 20 or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.”
AMEN! And keep learning something new every single day so you can stay forever young.
Talk to any musician or creative person, and if they’re completely honest, they’ll tell you that they’ve been influenced by other musicians or other writers or painters or dancers. So it’s no shame to admire the work of others and take notes…..as long as you don’t plagiarize….in order to create something entirely new, as the legendary sculptor Rodin surely did:
“I invent nothing; I rediscover.”
–Auguste Rodin
Many happy rediscoveries to you this week!
Nobody, absolutely nobody is perfect. So this week, take it upon yourself to fully understand that. We all have our faults and quirks, and we all make mistakes from time to time.
This week, give your loved ones and co-workers a break if they mess up or make a mistake. You never know when you’ll be having a rough day and will need their forgiveness. What goes around comes around. Forgive it…and forget it.
“To err is human; to forgive, divine.
–Alexander Pope
